Did you know that during winter you could use some of the “warmer” Essential Oils to help fight of the “Winter Blues”? Basil - is for the respiratory system.
Black Pepper - for coughs and colds.
Cedarwood - for the lungs.
Cinnamon - for coughs (vaporise only).
Clary Sage - for sore throats.
Clove - for respiratory problems.
Cypress - eases coughs, bronchitis and sore throats.
Frankincense - is warming and relaxing, eases shortness of breath, useful for catarrahal conditions, helps asthma, coughs, bronchitis and laryngitis.
Ginger - for catarrah, flu, runny noses, aches and pains.
Marjoram - helps asthma, sinus and chest problems.
Niaouli, Pine, Rosemary, Rosewood, and Thyme are all good for chest problems, coughs and colds.
Sandalwood, good for laryngitis, sore throats, bronchitis and chest tightness.
BATH: Have a regular “warming” bath - here is a recipe you will want to use over and over! Mix these together well.
1/2 cup warm milk
1 desert spoon of honey
2 drops of Ginger
2 drops of Cedarwood
2 drops of Rosewood
(Add once you have a full bath and are ready to step into it)
Just aaaHHHH! Make sure the bathroom is warm too!!!
Light a Candle, turn off the lights have some of your relaxation music going!
Visualise yourself as totally well and engerised, free of aches and pains!
VAPORISE: Blend or Frankincense, Rosewood and Lavender. 3 drops of each.
MASSAGE: Marjoram, Frankincense and Niaouli to ease aches and pains associated with the flu. 3 drops or each into 10mls of carrier oil. If you have Olive Oil that will do as Olive oil is very warming to the muscles.
POOR CIRCULATION:
Add 1 drop of Black Pepper and 1 drop of Ginger to a 50 cent piece size of hand and body lotion and massage into your feet and hands.
Tips for Kiddies –
1 or 2 drops of Niaouli on your child’s hankies popped into their pocket for school will help fight any cold and flu infections.
A Damp ‘Face Washer with 3-4 drops of Lavender popped into a sandwich bag, for them to wipe their hands with before eating lunch ANYTIME of the year is also a good way to help keep your cherished children healthy.
